Just thought I’d put up a little post with a few tips to rock your senior session!
1. Put some effort into your outfits!
Have at least one casual outfit, as well as a dressy outfit. Layer and pick season apportion clothing. If you can’t decide on outfits, bring extras and I can help choose what will photograph best. Pinterest is a great place to get ideas if your not a fashionista!
2. Think about getting your hair and makeup done professionally
Wanna take it to the next level? Getting your hair and makeup done professionally gives your shoot a much more refined look. Plus, it’s a great excuse to get pampered! If you are confident in your own makeup applying ability, make sure to blend, and try not to go overboard. And if you don’t normally wear makeup, a little lip gloss and bit of mascara goes a long ways!
3. Bring things that showcase your hobbies and passions.
Pets, artwork, sports, instruments, anything that you love and want to be a part of your session! The possibilities are endless because everyone is different and is into different things. Be sure to mention your ideas to your photographer.
This gives your shoot a put together look. Adding a necklace here and scarf there can diversify the portfolio! Bring different accessorize for each outfit. Hats, jewelry, scarves, shoes, headbands, it all personalizes your session and helps show your personality.
5. Don’t overlook little details!
Even the littlest things can take away from your shine! Be sure to iron your clothes, have either clean nails or fresh polish, don’t have outgrown roots. Have moisturized skin and Chapstick/lipgloss on hand!
6. Bring a friend!
A good way to not feel awkward or nervous is to have a friend there! They can help ease your jitters, get you to smile and laugh, and it’s fun to share this experience with somehow ratherthan alone!
The location you choose can add so much to your session! Try to pick a location you love that has plenty of options. By options, I mean pick a place that has more than one look. Maybe like a mountain lake. You’ll have the lake, mountain views, a road, in the trees, maybe a trail, and maybe an open field like area. Or try to find two nearby locations for more options.
8. Have FUN
It should go without saying, but don’t forget to plan for fun! I do my best to help you relax and be comfortable, but just come to your shoot and be yourself and your photos will shine! And if you have something in mind or your own vision, let’s hear it!
